What Does It Actually Cost to Run a Scent Diffuser?
Short answer: the machine is a one-time $79.99 as part of the Starter Kit. After that you're buying fragrance oil, and that runs roughly $11 to $31 a month depending on how much of your home you're scenting and how hard you run it.

The machine
The Home diffuser is $119 on its own. The Starter Kit is $79.99 and includes your first 120 mL bottle — priced below the diffuser alone, because we'd rather you own the machine than rent it.
One-time. No subscription, nothing renews, and it's yours to keep. That part genuinely ends at $79.99.
The oil — the part people actually want to know
A 120 mL bottle runs a typical home for about a month at moderate intensity, scenting up to 900 sq ft.

Four things that change the number
Most people don't run a diffuser at full intensity across a whole house. The number moves a lot:

1. Intensity. The lowest setting uses meaningfully less oil, and after a week your nose adapts anyway. Almost everyone starts too high.
2. Schedule. Running it in intervals — morning, late afternoon, evening — uses far less than running it continuously, and smells stronger. Constant scent is scent you stop noticing.
3. Bottle size. The 500 mL is 38% cheaper per mL. That's the single biggest lever.
4. The Reserve. 20% off every refill, cancel whenever. Optional — the diffuser works identically without it.
Year one, all in

The honest comparison
A good scented candle runs $50–70 and lasts about three weeks, scenting maybe eight feet. Kept burning in one room, that's around $1,000 a year for one room.
A diffuser costs less and covers a whole floor. But that's the comparison that flatters us, so here's the one that doesn't:
If you only want one room to smell nice occasionally, a $30 candle is cheaper and we're not the right purchase. Cold-air diffusion makes sense when you want the whole space scented consistently, without a flame, without thinking about it. If that's not what you're after, don't buy it.
